Preventive measures for heavy-duty racking tilt mainly include the following aspects:

Rack design and installation phase
1. Reasonable design:
- According to the actual situation of the weight, size, and type of stored goods, accurately calculate the structural parameters of the rack, including the specifications of the columns, the load-bearing capacity of the beams, and the thickness of the shelves, to ensure that the overall structural strength of the rack can meet the load requirements, and avoid tilting due to overload from the design source.
- Optimize the layout of the shelves, such as using appropriate spacing and spans, to ensure that the force on each part of the shelves is even, such as adding support columns or tie rods in the middle of longer shelves to enhance stability.
2. Standard installation:
- Operated by a professional installation team according to the design drawings and installation instructions, strictly controlling the installation accuracy, such as ensuring that the verticality deviation of the columns is within a very small range (usually required to be no more than a few thousandths), the horizontality of the beams meets the standard, and the connection of each component is firm and reliable, preventing initial tilt problems caused by improper installation.
- During installation, ensure that the foundation bolts and other connecting parts are firmly fastened. For uneven ground, leveling should be done in advance or the bottom of the rack should be leveled by adjusting shims, etc., so that the rack is stable on the ground.

Daily use phase
1. Goods storage standards:
- Strictly store goods according to the load limit of the rack, do not overload, and try to keep the distribution of goods on each layer of the rack even, avoiding overloading on one side or a local area for a long time, leading to uneven force on the rack and tilting.
- Follow the FIFO principle to prevent goods from being piled up in one place for a long time, affecting the overall force balance of the rack.
2. Regular inspection and maintenance:
- Establish a regular inspection system to check the key components of the rack, such as whether the columns are bent or deformed, whether the beam connections are loose, whether the foundation bolts are firm, etc., and promptly find and deal with potential problems. It is generally recommended to conduct a visual inspection weekly or monthly, and a more comprehensive structural inspection every quarter or half year.
- Repair or replace parts found to be slightly deformed or damaged in time, such as tightening loose bolts, correcting slightly bent columns, etc., to prevent problems from worsening and causing rack tilting.
3. Environmental control:
- Keep the warehouse floor dry and clean to prevent the floor from becoming soft due to dampness, water accumulation, etc., causing uneven subsidence of the rack foundation and tilting. If necessary, moisture-proof and drainage facilities can be set up.
- Avoid the rack from being impacted by external forces. For example, when forklifts operate in the warehouse, they should operate according to regulations and maintain a safe distance from the rack to prevent collisions that cause displacement or tilting.
4. Reinforcement measures:
- For some racks that store heavier goods or have been used for a long time and have a certain risk of tilting, additional reinforcement measures can be adopted, such as installing horizontal or vertical tie rods between the racks to connect multiple racks into a whole, enhancing their anti-overturning ability;
Anti-slip pads and shock-absorbing pads can also be added to the bottom of the rack to improve the friction and stability between the rack and the ground.
